Hello Fringe Family,
It's time for another #FringeFanFriday!
Congrats to @Stephen_Tulley for being selected to participate in this weeks edition.
You can read his interview below....
1. What country are you from?
I'm in the Los Angeles area of California, USA.
2. In what year did you discover Fringe and what led you to watch it?
I remember the buzz in town about the pilot, which I watched and was immediately a fan of the series.
3. What are your top 3 favorite episodes?
I would say the "Pilot" (which hooked a whole bunch of fans)
But in addition I would add "Jacksonville",
"White Tulip",
And what may surprise some "Liberty".
I think that episode was a direct overture from Joel to the fans to see a reunion of Fauxlivia and Lincoln and what happened to them in the alternate universe.
4. What is one of your favorite moments of the the entire series?
There are so many, but one of my personal favorites is at the final scene of Jacksonville when Olivia sees Peter shimmering and realizes that he isn't from this universe and everything she thought about Peter and Walter was a lie. You can see it in her eyes glaring at Walter! It's like she's saying, "What did you do"?!
5. Which character do you most identify with and why?
Strangely, I feel a bit like Lincoln of Season 4 who for most of the season went around saying, "This is weird." I work in a business, and a town (Hollywood) where that is a daily thing.
6. If you could change anything about the finale, what would it be?
I was very happy with the ending. So few serialized shows get the chance to write an ending that answers a lot of questions. However, I would have liked to have seen a foreshadowing that the remaining Observer Science Team members might take a chance and bring Walter back from the future since we learned that they all experienced "emotive development" and even December chose to reach out and help human kind at great risk. It would have been a great set up for a movie or TV special.
7. If you could own any object or prop from the show what would it be?
The Photon Window that can see the other universe! Fringe was a TV show, why not get the "ultimate" TV!
8. If you could meet your Doppelganger what would you be most eager to learn about them?
If they made the same decisions in life that I did.
9. Have you ever met any of the cast members and if so, what was your encounter like?
Oh yes! Since I work in the "business." I detailed this in some posts for the All Fringe Blog. Unfortunately, the last two seasons of Fox's Aquarius I've been a vintage car precision driver on many episodes, but have not had any scenes with Chance Kelly, who played the evil Marshall Loeb in Season 1 of Fringe. That would be fun to meet him!
10. Thank you for taking the time to be apart of our #FringeFanFriday, Is there anything you would like to add about your overall Fringe experience?
I am still amazed at how good this show was. I would just like to share one experience. When Lost was wrapping up I listened to two Los Angeles disk jockeys talking about the differences between Lost and Fringe. They agreed that viewers of Lost were given a whole bunch of questions about the island, but at the end of the season most of those questions went unanswered. They did agree, however, that Fringe gave the viewers a bunch of questions during the course of a season, but those questions were answered at the end of each season, and then the show built upon those answers in the next season. That's quite a legacy.
Thank you so much, Stephen Tulley! You can follow him on Twitter: @Stephen_Tulley
